Emporia FC is a semi-professional futbol club built on passion, discipline, and community pride. Formerly known as Leones Negros, our club has evolved into a competitive force representing Emporia at a higher level of the game.
In October 2023, Emporia FC was officially accepted into the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), marking a new chapter in our journey. This milestone allows us to provide local players with real competitive exposure while strengthening futbol culture across Emporia and the surrounding region.

Victor Ibarra and Leones Negros join Emporia Adult League and has the vision to grow the team to professional standards, Leones Negros quickly enlists the help of some friends and registers the team to participate in local leagues and tournaments in the Emporia, KS and metropolitan area.
After a few seasons participating and challenging in the local leagues, Leones Negros begins to gain momentum. Players, coaches and teams begin to take notice of the the efforts going on behind the scenes at Emporia. The team plays and win several Sunflower State Games Open Divisions and plays in the Region II USASA National Cup at Scheels Complex.
Soccer continues to grow in Emporia, and with growth comes expansion. A rare opportunity presents itself, Leones Negros joins the UPSL and in the process renames itself to Emporia “Black Lions” Futbol Club.

Emporia FC welcomes players of all skill levels through our academy, reserve, and senior pathways. We focus on youth development while providing clear opportunities to progress into competitive football environments.
No prior experience is required for academy-level programs. Players are evaluated based on age, commitment, and potential, with advanced placement available for those with competitive experience.
Players should bring comfortable sportswear, futbol boots, shin guards, and a water bottle. All training equipment is provided by Emporia FC during sessions.
Training schedules vary by age group and team level. Most programs train multiple times per week, with additional matchdays, fitness sessions, and development activities as part of the pathway.
